Good and fast communication for emergency response crew members at Lely Campus
At the beginning of 2014, the Lely Campus in Maassluis was officially opened by Queen Maxima during a festive event. Lely is market leader in the production of innovative machines and solutions for the agricultural sector. The international headquarters is located on the new Lely Campus, where 800 people work. It also accommodates two production locations. Sustainability is a key priority at Lely. The innovative Lely Campus was even awarded the highest BREEAM certification as the most sustainable office and production complex in Europe..
“In order to optimally establish the emergency response team organisation on the new campus, Lely replaced its analogue, licence-free two-way radios with digital NEXEDGE radios. Henk Galjaardt, Facility Manager at Lely: “The analogue two-way radios were outdated and had insufficient coverage in the new complex.” High time for a replacement, because the two-way radios were used every day by the emergency response crew members on site. In the event of a disaster, they have to be on the scene quickly and the team leader has to be directly alerted.
Digital technology offers many advantages compared to the analogue technology, including an extremely clear call quality and better coverage. Flash Private Mobile Networks conducted a field strength measurement to establish the degree of coverage on the campus. Thanks to the use of a repeater, coverage with the new two-way radios is guaranteed throughout the campus.
Henk Galjaardt: “Now, all employees can have peace of mind when working at the Lely Campus, and in the event of a disaster, the emergency response team can be on the scene quickly. Using the new two-way radio system, the emergency response crew members are ensured of good and fast communication.”
