In gas zones (Zone 0, 1 and 2) there is (potentially) an explosive gas, liquid or vapour present. In dust zones (zone 21, 22 and 23) explosive fibres, solids or dust particles are (possibly) present. In zone 2 this applies to < 0.1% of the operating time.
